Amar CHAOUI
Percussionist
Born in Montreuil(suburb of paris) where he grew up, he studied and is still living.
His childhood was grounded on traditional algerian music, and on percussions. At 14, one of his profesors decides to open a class of percussion at the school. He signs up without even thinking.
His passion for percussions increases. He dicovers his first band later and plays with different artists such as steve coleman, sophie elborg, idir, takfarinas, fadela, and many other algerian artists. Today, he follows his way with akli d, gaada sde bechar, larbi dida, nemla...
In 2002, he joins Gnawa Diffusion.
